This Chick brooder is a great way to replicate the warmth of a mother hen. It provides a very natural solution for keeping chicks warm and healthy. The Comfort Chick brooder is made of stong ABS plastic which is robust and easy to clean.
The main postive factor of a heating plate brooder over a more traditional heating lamp, is that it uses far less energy due to the low wattage required. Therefore it offers extremely good value over time.
An LED light indicator shows when the brooder is heating up and the strength of the heat can be adjusted by altering the height of the brooder. The height of the plate can easily be adjusted, by pushing the yellow quick release clips on the underside of the brooder.
The heat source radiated from a chick brooder of this type is completely different to the heat provided from a lamp and bulb. When setting the height of the brooder best practice is to allow the chicks to be able to touch the underside of the brooder, as they would do so in their natural enviroment under mother hen.
