Product Description

The Rutland ESB375 Battery Fence Energiser is a powerful wet battery-powered energiser designed for a range of fencing applications, particularly where mains power isn't available or for semi-permanent fence lines. It's a robust unit suitable for containing various types of livestock

The ESB375 is a wet battery (12V) powered energiser, making it highly portable and suitable for:
  • Larger paddocks and longer fence lines: Its higher stored energy allows it to electrify longer distances than smaller battery units.

  • Areas with medium to heavy vegetation: It can maintain a more effective shock even when there's some weed or grass growth touching the fence.

  • Containing robust livestock: Suitable for cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, and goats. It can also be used for rabbits, poultry, and ducks.

  • Semi-permanent fencing: Where you might move the fence occasionally, but require more power than a dry battery energiser offers.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Wet Battery Powered (12V): Designed to be used with an external 12V leisure battery (e.g., 80Ah or higher, not included). This provides significant power and allows for longer operational periods between recharges compared to dry cell batteries.

  • High Stored Energy: At 5.4 Joules stored energy, it delivers a substantial shock, making it effective for deterring even determined animals.

  • Voltage Indicator Lights: Visual indicators (LEDs) to show the energiser is operating and pulsing correctly.

  • Low Battery Warning Light: Alerts you when the connected 12V battery needs recharging, preventing unexpected power loss.

  • Battery Saver Switch (Day/Night Sensor): Automatically slows down the energiser's pulse rate during hours of darkness. This conserves battery power and extends battery life, as animals are typically less active at night.

  • Stainless Steel Crocodile Clips: Included for easy and secure connection to your 12V battery.

  • Heavy Duty Case and Hanging Cord: Designed for durability in outdoor conditions, and for easy mounting or transport.

  • Fast/Economy/Slow Switch (or High/Low/Off): Offers flexibility to adjust the pulse speed or power output.

    • Fast Pulse: For training stock or when higher deterrence is needed.

    • Night Econ Pulse: Automatically reduces pulse speed at night to save battery.

    • Slow Pulse: To conserve battery power once animals are trained to the fence.

    • Robust Output: Capable of delivering a strong deterrent even against animals with thicker coats.

Specifications (Rutland ESB375):

  • Power Source: Requires an external 12V wet leisure battery (e.g., 12V 80Ah or greater, not included).

  • Stored Energy: 5.4 Joules (J)

  • Max Power Use: Around 600 mA (milliamperes)

  • Open Volts (Open Circuit Voltage): Approximately 9,000 V to 10,000 V

  • Voltage at 500 Ohms (Load Voltage): Typically around 4,500 V to 5,000 V (the effective voltage on a fence with typical resistance).

  • Max. Fence Length (without vegetation): Can power up to 35-40 km of fence in ideal, clear conditions.

  • Max. Fence Length (with medium vegetation): Approximately 11-14 km.

  • Max. Fence Length (with heavy vegetation): Approximately 4-7 km.

  • Recommended Earth Posts (1m): Usually 2-3 (A strong earthing system is crucial for optimal performance, especially with higher-joule energisers).

  • Approximate Battery Life (with 12V 75Ah battery): Around 7 days (this is a general estimate and varies greatly with fence load, vegetation, and battery health). Using economy modes will extend this.
